3 Main Reasons Why You Should Not Install iOS 13 Public Beta!

Apple confirmed iOS 13 on the stage of its Worldwide Developer Conference 2019 (WWDC 2019) in early June. The company used the opportunity to highlight some of the great features that the new version of the operating system will bring to the compatible iPhones. The final version of iOS 13 will be released next month alongside the new 2019 iPhones. The cycle of releasing public betas and developer betas started after WWDC 2019.

While the first 3-4 beta versions were filled with bugs here and there, the latest beta versions are quite stable and are worth trying if you wish. You should have an iPhone 6s or above to try these beta versions, as apple ended the software support for iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 & 6Plus on iOS12. But in this article, I am going to talk about 3 main reasons why you should not install iOS 13 public beta on your iPhone.

The latest beta versions of iOS 13 are stable but are still causing problems for iPhone users. iOS beta enthusiasts are still facing software bugs and problems on their iPhones. The iOS 13 public beta is available for those of you who have enrolled in the company's public beta software program and the developer beta is available for the developers out there who have enrolled in apple's developer program.

No doubt there are good changes in iOS 13 including features and performance enhancement which might tempt you to give it a go before the final release. That said, this is an unfinished software and apple mentioned this in their beta user guide. These beta versions are used to iron out the bugs before the final release and this is the sole reason why apple runs beta programs before every version release of their software. So those of you, who want to help apple finding those bugs and fixing them, need to know what are some of the reasons why you should not do so. In this article, I'll take you through 3 main reasons why you shouldn't install the public beta of iOS 13.

iOS 13 Beta Problems

Apple's iOS 13 beta release notes always acknowledge multiple issues with the software and developers are reporting additional issues as they are encountering it. Installation and download problems, excessive battery drain, Wi-Fi connectivity issues, Face ID issues, Touch ID problems, problems with auto-brightness and third-party apps are some of the problems.

It's impossible to predict exactly what you might encounter while you try the beta and that's why I recommend you to do some preparation reading and work if you want to install the iOS 13 beta for the first time or else just don't install it and wait for the OTA update till mid-September.

iOS 13 Bugs and Crashes

If you are thinking of installing this beta profile on your primary device then just don't, if you can not stand dealing with bugs, performance issues, and potential security issues. Apple also does not advice you to run beta profiles on your primary device. If you have secondary or a backup device then you should think about installing on it rather than your daily driver.

At the time of writing this article, the iOS 13 beta problems include broken apps and services, bad battery life, issues with Bluetooth and GPS. Apple will refine the final released version with future beta versions but the future beta versions will come with their own set of bugs. While you can solve some problems, some of the problems require fixes from apple's side.

Lack of Jailbreak Support

If you are currently using a jailbroken device or you want to jailbreak your iPhone in the near future you should avoid the beta versions. Jailbreak developers have released jailbreak tools for iOS 12, but there is nothing in the jailbreak scene for iOS 12.4 and upwards.

There is not even a proper iOS 13 jailbreak movement so you'll be good if you stay put on the current iOS firmware. If you update to iOS 13 beta then there is no way to downgrade to jailbreak supported firmware like iOS 12, iOS 11 or iOS 10.

Final Thoughts

Apple will periodically release new versions of iOS 13 public and developer beta. New iOS 13 betas will fix some of the old beta issues and will also bring their own problems. The company typically releases new public and developer beta versions every other week as its nearing the Gold master and final public release.

The final version of iOS 13 should arrive in mid-September. If the rumors are to be believed the exact date should be somewhere between the 10th of September to 20th of September shortly after the company launches the new set of iPhone models. But till then if you depend on your device to get through a day at work or college, you should probably stay put on iOS 12.

3 Alternatives that are better than Apple’s AirPods Max!

Apple just launched AirPods Max, an over the ear style headphones for 550$ or ₹59,900 starting to ship from 15th December. Now apple clearly wants to sell these during the Christmas holiday season to the customers who want to buy anything and everything they sell. After launching total 5 iPhones this year (iPhone SE2, 12Mini, 12, 12Pro & 12ProMax) along with 3 iPads and 2 MacBooks, apple is going all in on their products lineup. This new product completes their audio hardware lineup which was missing a Max. While we were waiting for a cheap version of AirPods Pro, the tech giant went ahead and launched the more expensive version of it. With a starting price close to or in some regions more than the Sony PlayStation5, the question has to be asked, are they worth it? Well, no one has listened to them, other than MKBHD maybe? First of all, let me just clear that this is not a review, these are just my first impressions & the comparison is just based on it’s price and not the featu
