WWDC 2018: What's new is MacOS Mojave.

Apple on 4th of June at WWDC 2018 previewed their new operating system for MacBooks. The new OS is named as Mojave and its named after the Mojave desert. MacOS Mojave brings some exciting new desktop-only features. So what's new? In this blog, I've picked out some of the highlights. Here's everything new in MacOS Mojave that you need to know.

Redesigned App Store

The Mac App Store has been redesigned just like the iOS App Store was back in iOS 11. The new MacOS store has a similar design to the current iOS store. But upon asking if there is gonna be a merge of the two OS in terms of app stores, Apple said NO. Although Macs will be able to run some apps written for iPhones & iPads. Mac is also gonna get four new Apple-designed apps which are- Home, Stocks, News & Voice memo. As of now,  only Apple has the ability to move iOS apps to MacOS but that's gonna change in 2019 as Apple is gonna help developers to shift their apps to MacOS with the help of UIKit.

Stacks

MacOS Mojave can now automatically organize the desktop with this Stacks feature. It will take all the icons spread across your desktop and will put them into folders. You can organize stacks by file type, date, tags etc. This feature makes it easier to clean your desktop screen. You can also sync these stacks over iCloud.

Group Facetime

Skype and Google Hangouts have been capable of group video chats for years, so frankly it's not a new feature but its a long overdue feature for MacOS. Of course, as Apple says they don't want to be the first one but instead the better one. Now you'll be able to do facetime calls with up to 32 people.

Dark Mode

In MacOS High Sierra dark mode was only restricted to Mac's menu and dock but in Mojave, you can apply dark mode to the entire OS. Apple's own apps will use dark mode designs, and developers can use Apple's API to create dark mode designs for their apps.

Privacy Updates

Privacy is on everyone's mind after the incident involving Facebook and their security breaches reports. Now when you use Safari with MacOS Mojave, It'll prevent social media sites from sharing your private information. Additionally, now apps will be required to ask for permissions every time before using camera & microphone.

My Opinion

Apple is definitely bringing a lot of changes in MacOS Mojave. There are some changes which the community was asking for quite some time and its good that Apple is finally listening to them and bringing those changes. As is with iOS 12 MacOS is also a pretty big update in terms of performance and security with some long overdue features added here and there.  Apple will most probably make some more changes to Mojave until the stable version reaches the normal mac user.

3 Alternatives that are better than Apple’s AirPods Max!

Apple just launched AirPods Max, an over the ear style headphones for 550$ or ₹59,900 starting to ship from 15th December. Now apple clearly wants to sell these during the Christmas holiday season to the customers who want to buy anything and everything they sell. After launching total 5 iPhones this year (iPhone SE2, 12Mini, 12, 12Pro & 12ProMax) along with 3 iPads and 2 MacBooks, apple is going all in on their products lineup. This new product completes their audio hardware lineup which was missing a Max. While we were waiting for a cheap version of AirPods Pro, the tech giant went ahead and launched the more expensive version of it. With a starting price close to or in some regions more than the Sony PlayStation5, the question has to be asked, are they worth it? Well, no one has listened to them, other than MKBHD maybe? First of all, let me just clear that this is not a review, these are just my first impressions & the comparison is just based on it’s price and not the featu

3 Main Reasons Why You Should Not Install iOS 13 Public Beta!

Apple confirmed iOS 13 on the stage of its Worldwide Developer Conference 2019 (WWDC 2019) in early June. The company used the opportunity to highlight some of the great features that the new version of the operating system will bring to the compatible iPhones. The final version of iOS 13 will be released next month alongside the new 2019 iPhones. The cycle of releasing public betas and developer betas started after WWDC 2019. While the first 3-4 beta versions were filled with bugs here and there, the latest beta versions are quite stable and are worth trying if you wish. You should have an iPhone 6s or above to try these beta versions, as apple ended the software support for iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 & 6Plus on iOS12. But in this article, I am going to talk about 3 main reasons why you should not install iOS 13 public beta on your iPhone. The latest beta versions of iOS 13 are stable but are still causing problems for iPhone users. iOS beta enthusiasts are still facing software
